Sounds like a Roman Senator.. Os Trigonum.. but it is really pesky..

And there may be much more to posterior ankle pain than meets the eye! Introducing... the Stieda process!!

We have all seen it I am betting.. patient comes in, involved in a jumping sport like football, basketball or especially dance, and has pain deep in the posterior aspect of the ankle.

I know what that is.. posterior impingement syndrome due to os trigonum right?

WRONG.. posterior impingement syndrome and os trigonum syndrome are seperate and different conditions.. and then there is the Stieda Process Syndrome.

Hmmm.. in the words of an (in)famous ranga (redhead to all you non Aussies out there).. "please explain!

Ok.. let's take them one by one...
