Clarification on the effect of leukocytes in the treatment of tendinopathy with Platelet Rich Plasma.

Recently Craig Payne wrote a blog about Platelet Rich Plasma in the treatment of Plantar Fasciopathy. In fact the discussion drifted into more general chat about PRP for tendinopathy, but one part caught my attention and needs some clarification. In the blog Craig said
"The effectiveness of PRP in tendons (he did not mention this in the context of the plantar fascia) might depend on the leucocyte concentration in the PRP. I have not checked the literature on this, but I think he said the PRP works in tendons if the leucocyte concentration is high and does not work in tendons if the leucocyte concentration is low."

Now this does need a little clarification for those of you considering PRP as a treatment option. Read on...
