Nike Air Zoom AlphaFly Next % | Behind The Design

I have now probably watched this video 10 times and each time I am stunned at what Nike has achieved, and even more by this incredibly humble man, Eliud Kipchoge and his astounding achievements.

An athlete who can translate what he feels, what his body tells him about a piece of equipment, which can then be interpreted by us, the equipment builder, is a very rare beast indeed.

Kelly Slater is one, and after winning 11 World Surfing Championships, he will go down as the greatest professional surfer of all time.

Louis Hamilton is another. He has won 7 Formula 1 Drivers Championships, and although his career is not yet finished, he will be recorded as the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time.

Eliud Kipchoge has won the London Marathon 4 times, Berlin 3 times and Chicago once. He is the  is the world record holder in the marathon with a time of 2:01:39. He is also the first and only runner to date to run under 2 hours for the marathon distance, a feat he achieved on October 12th 2019 in Vienna Austria.

His time was 1:59:40.

He is the greatest distance runner of all time, and he keeps a diary of what he feels from his running footwear, for every run.

He considers himself a mentor to those trying to beat him, and has teamwork as a catchphrase for those who train with him.

This is a once in a lifetime asset for Nike.

Do yourself a favour and watch this video and digest the many messages it contains.

Utilising your knowledge to enable athletes perform better, there is nothing more satisfying.
